Logon

The Online Public Update for Schools – County District School (OPUS-CDS) application is used to notify the California Department of Education (CDE) of updates to information contained in the Public School Directory, such as contact information, personnel, agency name, school type, grade span, etc. Only district or county CDS Coordinators and Superintendents have access to submit updates through this application.This application should not be confused with the California Basic Educational Data System - Online Reporting Application (CBEDS-ORA) , which is used for reporting CBEDS data to the CDE. Instructions

  1. This screen provides access to the OPUS-CDS application.
  2. Enter your username and password and select "Logon" to access the application. If you have lost your user name and password, call the CDS Administration at 916-327-4014 or e-mail at cdsadmin@cde.ca.gov.
  3. Schools (non-charters and dependent or independent charters) do not have access to OPUS - CDS. All updates must be routed through the district or county CDS coordinator listed in the bottom box on your school information page in the California School Directory
  4. This site is best viewed at 800x600 or higher screen resolution.
