Online Public Update for Schools (OPUS)

The Online Public Update for Schools (OPUS) application is used by local educational agencies (LEAs) to notify the California Department of Education (CDE) of updates to California School Directory information, such as contact information, school attributes, and adminstrator contacts.

This application should not be confused with the California Basic Educational Data System - Online Reporting Application (CBEDS-ORA), which is used for reporting CBEDS data to the CDE.
Site Access and Instructions
Only district and county office County-District-School (CDS) Coordinators and Superintendents have access to submit updates through this application. Schools, including charter schools, shall notify their district CDS Coordinator of any necessary changes. Schools may look up their CDS Coordinator by searching for the school in the California School Directory. The CDS Coordinator is listed in the last box on the school's information page. There is also a "Request Data Update(s)" feature in this box which may be used to notify the district CDS Coordinator of necessary changes.
