Local Educational Agencies (LEAs) will use the Literacy Coaches and Reading Specialists (LCRS) Grant Program Opt-Out Form to notify the California Department of Education (CDE) of intent to opt-out of program participation and decline funding for one or more eligible schoolsites. Only eligible schoolsites are displayed in the Opt-Out Form. The deadline for submission of the Opt-Out Form is September 30, 2023. No action is required if an LEA elects to accept funding for all eligible schoolsites.

Logon Instructions:

• An Access Code for each eligible LEA will be emailed to the school district or county office of education's superintendent of schools or direct-funded charter school administrator.
• Once the Access Code is entered, an LEA will select "Logon" to view programmatic information, and to select any eligible schoolsites that elect to opt-out of program participation and funding.
• When the opt-out form has been reviewed and non-participating schoolsites have been selected the LEA will select "Ready to Submit", key in the name of the LEA's Authorized Representative for Certification, and select "Submit".
• It is recommended that the LEA print a copy of the submission for the LEA's local records.
• When the submission is complete, the LEA will select "Logoff".
